Description

A quick and simple banana French toast recipe. Perfect for a cozy breakfast and easy to whip up.

Ingredients
  • 4 slices of bread (brioche or thick white bread works best)

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 ripe banana (½ for batter, ½ for topping)

  • ½ cup milk (or any milk alternative)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

  • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional but tasty)

  • Butter for frying

  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions
  1. Make the batter

    • Mash ½ of the banana in a bowl until smooth.

    • Add eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla.

    • Whisk together until well combined.

  2. Dip the bread

    • Heat a pan over medium and melt a little butter.

    • Dip each slice of bread into the banana batter, coating both sides (don’t soak too long or it gets soggy).

  3. Cook

    • Place dipped bread on the pan.

    • Cook 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown.

  4. Serve

    • Slice the remaining banana and place on top.

    • Drizzle with maple syrup.

    • Add powdered sugar if you want it extra pretty.
