Description
A quick and simple banana French toast recipe. Perfect for a cozy breakfast and easy to whip up.
Ingredients
4 slices of bread (brioche or thick white bread works best)
2 eggs
1 ripe banana (½ for batter, ½ for topping)
½ cup milk (or any milk alternative)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
½ tsp cinnamon (optional but tasty)
Butter for frying
Maple syrup (for serving)
Instructions
Make the batter
Mash ½ of the banana in a bowl until smooth.
Add eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla.
Whisk together until well combined.
Dip the bread
Heat a pan over medium and melt a little butter.
Dip each slice of bread into the banana batter, coating both sides (don’t soak too long or it gets soggy).
Cook
Place dipped bread on the pan.
Cook 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
Serve
Slice the remaining banana and place on top.
Drizzle with maple syrup.
Add powdered sugar if you want it extra pretty.
