Description

A super simple and satisfying fried egg burger recipe. Fast, juicy, and great for any night of the week.

Ingredients
  • 1–2 burger buns (brioche or sesame works best)

  • 1–2 beef burger patties (¼–⅓ lb each, or pre-made)

  • 1–2 eggs

  • 1–2 slices cheese (cheddar, American, or Swiss)

  • Lettuce

  • Tomato slices

  • 1–2 slices cooked bacon (optional but awesome)

  • Butter or oil (for frying)

  • Salt & pepper

  • Your favorite burger sauce, ketchup, or mayo

Instructions
  1. Cook the burger patty

    • Season with salt & pepper.

    • Fry or grill over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes per side, or until cooked to your liking.

    • Add cheese in the last minute and let it melt.

  2. Toast the buns

    • Lightly butter and toast in a pan or on the grill until golden.

  3. Fry the egg

    • Heat a little butter/oil in a pan.

    • Crack in the egg, cook sunny side up or over easy.

    • Season with salt & pepper (a runny yolk is ideal for this burger).

  4. Assemble

    • Spread sauce on the bottom bun.

    • Add lettuce and tomato.

    • Place the cheeseburger patty on top.

    • Add bacon if using.

    • Crown it with the fried egg.

    • Top with the bun.
