Description
A super simple and satisfying fried egg burger recipe. Fast, juicy, and great for any night of the week.
Ingredients
1–2 burger buns (brioche or sesame works best)
1–2 beef burger patties (¼–⅓ lb each, or pre-made)
1–2 eggs
1–2 slices cheese (cheddar, American, or Swiss)
Lettuce
Tomato slices
1–2 slices cooked bacon (optional but awesome)
Butter or oil (for frying)
Salt & pepper
Your favorite burger sauce, ketchup, or mayo
Instructions
Cook the burger patty
Season with salt & pepper.
Fry or grill over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes per side, or until cooked to your liking.
Add cheese in the last minute and let it melt.
Toast the buns
Lightly butter and toast in a pan or on the grill until golden.
Fry the egg
Heat a little butter/oil in a pan.
Crack in the egg, cook sunny side up or over easy.
Season with salt & pepper (a runny yolk is ideal for this burger).
Assemble
Spread sauce on the bottom bun.
Add lettuce and tomato.
Place the cheeseburger patty on top.
Add bacon if using.
Crown it with the fried egg.
Top with the bun.
